Acceptable Use Policy

The rules for using Closr responsibly — what you may not do with our messaging, calling, recording, AI and lead tools, and what happens if the rules are broken.

Last updated November 1, 2026

1. Why we have this policy

Closr lets you reach people at scale — by email, chat, social messages and phone, with AI doing much of the work. Used well, that helps businesses grow; misused, it harms the people on the receiving end, our other customers and the platforms we rely on. This policy forms part of our Terms of Service and applies to everyone who uses the Service, including your team members and anything your AI agents and automations do on your behalf.

2. Illegal, harmful and deceptive activity

Do not use Closr to:

  • Break any law or regulation, or help anyone else do so.
  • Defraud, scam or phish anyone, run pyramid or get-rich-quick schemes, or sell counterfeit, stolen or prohibited goods.
  • Impersonate a real person, business or government body, or misrepresent who you are or who you work for.
  • Harass, threaten, bully, stalk or intimidate anyone, or promote violence, terrorism or self-harm.
  • Create, store or send child sexual abuse material, or any sexual content involving minors. We report it to the authorities.
  • Publish hate speech or discriminate against people because of race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or other protected characteristics.
  • Infringe anyone’s intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights.
  • Promote or sell illegal drugs, weapons, gambling where it is unlawful, or other regulated goods and services without the required licences.

3. Email, messaging and outreach

  • Only contact people where you have a lawful basis to — their consent, or a legitimate business-to-business reason where the law allows it.
  • Do not send spam: no purchased, rented or scraped lists of consumers, no messages to addresses that never opted in where consent is required, and no misleading subject lines or sender names.
  • Every marketing email must identify your business and include a working way to unsubscribe. Honour unsubscribes and opt-outs promptly and permanently.
  • Follow the rules of each channel — the WhatsApp Business and Meta messaging policies (including the 24-hour messaging window and approved templates), Telegram, Slack and Lark terms, and the sending limits of Google and Microsoft mailboxes.
  • Do not use multiple accounts, mailboxes or numbers to get around sending limits, blocks or opt-outs.
  • Keep bounce and complaint rates low. We may pause sending from an account whose rates suggest unwanted mail.

4. Phone calls and AI voice agents

  • Comply with telemarketing and do-not-call laws where the person you call is, including permitted calling hours and any do-not-call registers.
  • Do not make automated or AI-voiced calls to consumers without the consent the law requires.
  • Display a caller ID you are entitled to use. Do not spoof numbers.
  • Where the law requires it, tell people at the start of a call that they are speaking to an AI agent and that the call may be recorded.
  • Do not use an AI voice to imitate a specific real person’s voice without their written permission.
  • Closr voice agents cannot place emergency calls. Do not rely on them for emergency or safety-critical services.

5. Recording, transcription and the meeting bot

  • Give notice and obtain consent from every participant before recording or transcribing a meeting or call, as the law of each participant’s location requires.
  • Do not use the note-taker or meeting bot to secretly monitor anyone, or to record meetings you are not entitled to attend.
  • If a participant asks you to stop recording, or to delete their recording, respect that where the law requires.

6. AI-generated content and ads

  • Do not generate deepfakes — realistic images, video or audio of a real person saying or doing something they did not — without their consent, or any content designed to deceive people about what is real.
  • Do not use AI features to produce sexual content, content that sexualises minors, malware, instructions for weapons, or other illegal content.
  • Label AI-generated content where the law or a platform’s rules require it.
  • Ads you create and publish through Closr must comply with the policies of the ad platform (such as Meta, Google or TikTok) and with advertising law. Do not make false or unsupported claims.
  • Do not try to get around the safety filters of the AI models we provide.

7. Personal data and lead data

  • Only put personal data into Closr that you are entitled to process, and give people the privacy notices the law requires.
  • Do not upload special categories of sensitive data — such as health, biometric, religious, political, financial-account or government-identifier data, or data about children — unless we have agreed to it in writing.
  • Use lead and enrichment data only for lawful business-to-business purposes. Do not resell it, publish it, or use it to decide anyone’s eligibility for credit, employment, insurance, housing or similar.
  • Respond to data-subject requests — access, correction, deletion, objection — for the data you control. We will help where we can.

8. Security and fair use of the Service

Do not:

  • Probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service, or breach its security or authentication, unless we have agreed to it in writing. If you find a vulnerability, please report it to us.
  • Upload viruses, malware or harmful code, or use the Service to attack other systems.
  • Scrape, crawl or copy the Service, or access it by automated means other than our published APIs and integrations.
  • Overload the Service, or try to get around rate limits, usage allowances, plan limits or billing.
  • Share a login between several people, or create multiple accounts to obtain extra free trials, allowances or promo benefits.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile or copy the Service, or use it to build a competing product.
  • Use widgets, trackers or booking pages on sites or in ways that mislead visitors about who operates them.

9. Enforcement

If we reasonably believe this policy has been broken, we may — depending on how serious it is — warn you, remove or disable content, pause sending or calling, limit features, suspend the account or terminate it under the Terms of Service. Where the law requires or the harm is serious, we may act without notice and report the activity to the authorities or the affected platform. We will usually tell you what we did and why, and restore access once the issue is fixed. Fees are not refunded for a suspension or termination caused by a breach.

10. Reporting abuse

If you receive unwanted messages or calls sent through Closr, or see the Service being misused, email team@ojhconsulting.com with as much detail as you can — the sender, date, and a copy of the message. We investigate every report. To report a security vulnerability, use the same address and include “Security” in the subject.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the law, the platforms we connect to and our features change. The current version is always on this page.
